I seem to have been MIA for what seems like forever, I have been creating but most of it has been for people who read my blog so I haven't been able to post the things I have made. An Altered Notebook

Here is another of my embossing samples ready for my class at Cullen Crafts this month, I had a notebook with all our website stuff in and I thought it could do with a little decoration. I took the challenges from Alsoorts Challenge blog - no DP's, The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - How does your Garden Grow and Stamp, Scrap and Doodle challenge - Wings and came up with this:

For those who wish to know, the background paper was made by heat embossing stamped images and then going over the paper with sponged ink, once dry, wipe a cloth over the embossing and voila, you images show through :)

A very pink box

I am teaching a 3D class over at Cullen Crafts next month and decided to make a 4 way matchbox card as a sample. Stamp Something this week wanted pink somethings, so I set out to make it pink, which is not my normal colour but I am thinking it will be more so in future. Raise the bar had a weather theme, and Totaly Papercrafts had a Lets go Digital theme so I used this really cute digital stamp from Squiggle stamps. Last but not least Stamping for the weekend wanted ribbons and bows.

Copic Colour Challenge meets Dustin Pike

I decided to make a box & put some little eggs in it for Hubby, I just knew he would love this image from Dustin Pike. Very appropriate as Dustin's Challenge was for an Easter project. I used my copics to colour him in, I didnt quite have the colours for the Copic challenge so I used the closest ones I have, which were Y15, YR02 and YG00 I added a little YR04 for the shading and some green for the grass.

An acquaintance of ours, who we do framing for, has opened up a new gallery in Cullen to sell her pictures and I wanted to make her a good luck card (didnt get chance last week as I was too busy cutting the mounts for her opening) I took the sketch from Truly Scrumptious this week and made what turned out to be a very "Springy" card - it didnt start out that way but I love the result.
Everybody Art Challenge and Crafty Cardmakers wanted a spring card, Papertake Weekly and Crafty Crations both had an Anything Goes theme.

Flower Garden Ribbon Box

I needed something to store my loose ribbons in and have had this shoe box sitting around for a while now (never throw anything away, it may come in handy). I set about covering it with paper & making holes in the side (need to make a few more too). I was wondering what to decorate it with when my local craft group asked me to demonstrate some of the flowers I make. What better way of showing the finished product than making a "garden of flowers" on top of my box. I didnt take a picture of the "before" which I should have done so picture a shoe box here - you can all do that, right, lol. Here is the "after":

Caardvarks Challenge this month has a great prize of a guest design spot for Just Rite Stamps so I decided to enter their challenge of "Lace" I used the sketch from Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge.

I couldnt find any white lace in my stash, so I used a French Lace Doily that my friend Gina sent me and made some purple lace using my Martha Stewart Doily lace punch. I used my Just Rite Stamps to create the middle and some new Cosmic Shimmer Embossing powder.

Here is the other image I used for the Pollycraft DT call. Gina and I saw this box here and decided we wanted to make something similar. I have no idea what I am going to use it for yet, but it would make a pretty good gift if filled with card making things, i.e. stamped images in the pockets & brads & things in the drawers. I am really looking forward to spring arriving here, so I thought I would make this in "springy" colours. Allsorts Challenge Crazy 4 Challenges, Secret Crafter, Crafty Cardmakers and Incy Wincy designs Challenge this week all wanted Spring themed projects and Creative inspirations wanted anything but a card. When I saw this really cute basket at Waltzingmouse Makes blog I knew I had to make it for my boys as their Easter baskets I made dom paper with each of their names on it for the insides and made each of them a card to go with their baskets ( in their favourite colours of course). I used the Sketch from Shirleys 2 Girls Challenge and , althought you dont see them too well, there are stripes on the blue egg lol. The Treehouse challenge this week was clean and simple, Sassy Designs called for Easter and Crafty Catz wanted something for the boys.

First of all I have to say sorry to anyone who ended up on my blog at the end of last week, major panic attack I had, I was hijacked!!! I didnt notice anything until Saturday and then I had to find a way to fix it, which I have now done by installing a backup. The moral of this story is BACK UP YOUR BLOGS!

This is quite funny really, my Husband and I seem to take it in turns to give Valentines cards. Every year we say we arent going to get anything and every year one of us does something! No its not a joke. I have been meaning to do something with this gear shaped book from Kut 4 U, which comes with a template (which is the Just Us Girls challenge for this week), 8 pages and a jump ring. I split it into 2 in order to do 1 book each for my boys. I took the sketch from Crafts for eternity to make the front page:

Then I turned it to make the 2nd page:

I then used Mojo Mondays Sketch for this page:

and then I used the Sketch and Stash sketch for this page:

I added another jump ring and some ribbon to complete 2 books with 4 double sided pages each :) Job done!

Of course I did them all digitally but it would have been just as easy if I had done them traditionally, even if a little fiddly. If anyone is wondering why a gear shaped book, well thats easy, the boys got remote control cars as presents!

Getting slack, I have been creating honest!

I cant believe how quickly the weeks are going, in the run up to Christmas. I have been busy but just have not had time to post between shopping, parties and working I dont have much time to myself at the moment and I KNOW the kids have a better social life than we do. We did get the chance to go as a family to see Santa and his reindeer when they came to Cullen this week though, that was quite special.

We had our first kids christmas party to go to yesterday and the kids had a blast but Mummy needed a bit of time to herself by the time we got home. Gift card for my Nephew

Nope its not a card, but heaps of cards and card making "stuff" this time. I had a box of goodies arrive this morning from Gina, it was full of cards for my upcoming craft fair, a bunch of sissix and cuttlebug stuff I had bought and had shipped to Gina's address, a present for Roddie, some candy for the boys and last but not least THE most wonderful knitted elephant from Megan. Unfortunately I cant get a good picture of it (see previous post for that saga), but I can tell you it is purple and very soft and is sitting proudly on the top of my PC screen.
